The total value locked (TVL) in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols has fallen by approximately $50 billion in the past four months, eliminating gains made since the post-election market surge in November 2024. DeFi TVL climbed to $138 billion on Dec. 17, 2024, the highest since May 2022, just weeks after the election. But has since declined to $88 billion as of March 13, according to DeFiLlama.
