Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) is preparing to reclassify crypto assets as financial products, aligning them more closely with traditional securities. If approved, these reforms would mark a significant shift in Japan's approach to cryptocurrency regulation and make the country one of the most crypto-friendly jurisdictions globally. The proposed changes could have a major impact on Japan's crypto ecosystem by attracting both retail and institutional investors by providing a more favorable tax environment and new investment products such as Bitcoin ETFs.
