Six of Trump’s cabinet members disclose Bitcoin assets worth a total of millions

At least half a dozen Trump cabinet members hold Bitcoin investments with a combined total worth reaching millions, according to the latest financial disclosures. At least six out of the 22 members of President Donald Trump’s cabinet members hold Bitcoin ( BTC ) assets in crypto wallets or indirect holdings through investment vehicles such as crypto-backed exchange-traded funds . The information was compiled from the public officials’ financial disclosures dated December 2024 and January 2025, which are made available to the public. According to his public financial disclosure report , Health and Human Services secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. owns a Bitcoin Fidelity crypto account worth between $1 million to $5 million. Meanwhile, Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought was revealed to hold BTC in his personal Coinbase wallet, worth around $1,001 to $15,000. Vought vowed to divest from his holdings. Similarly, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent disclosed that he has a stake in iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF worth $250,001 to $500,000. Abiding by his ethics agreement, Bessent said he would divest no later than 90 days after his confirmation. Previously, Trump has claimed that members of the federal government were among the largest holders of BTC. He also vowed to make America the “Bitcoin superpower of the world.” At press time, Bitcoin has gone up by more than 1% in the past 24 hours of trading. It is currently trading hands at $83,332. Additionally, Gabbard directly holds around $15,001 to $50,000 worth of Bitcoin. Gabbard also vowed to divest from her Bitcoin holdings. Moreover, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy holds funds of around $250,001 to $500,000 in Bitcoin. He also holds a Gemini wallet with BTC worth $250,001 to $500,000 inside, as well as a Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund valued between $50,001 to $100,000. Lastly, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth revealed in his December disclosure that he held funds ranging from $15,001 to $50,000 in Bitcoin. Earlier this month, AI and crypto czar David Sacks claimed he had sold all his crypto holdings before he stepped into the role. Although he did not mention the exact amount of his crypto holdings, he did reveal they consisted of Bitcoin, Ethereum ( ETH ) and Solana ( SOL ).
